The Legster – Wheelchair Leg Extension Device is used to help children and adults to keep their legs straight.  In addition, it is designed in a wedge shape with adjustable leg straps to accommodate the need to stretch the adductor magnus muscles. 

Generally, this device would be used post surgery (or otherwise) to help keep legs comfortably extended and/or to prevent the child or adult from bending the legs.  The goal is to allow the legs to adapt and strengthen in full extension resulting in the ability stand in the full upright position and eventually walk.  This wheelchair leg extension can be modified to fit almost any special needs or standard handicap wheelchair (please call to inquire).

About The Legster
Janae needed to keep her legs straight for about 6 weeks after having orthopedic surgery to correct her hip subluxation and to release her hamstrings and adductors.  The first device Ollie made to achieve that purpose attached to Janae’s personal wheelchair allowing her hips and casted legs to remain comfortable, safe, extended and positioned for school and home during the healing process….hence The Legster
